TMJ Specialist Serving Springdale, AR

If you are dealing with jaw pain, chronic headaches, clicking or locking joints, or facial discomfort that no one seems to be able to explain, you are not alone — and you are not imagining it. At Restorative Wellness Center in Rogers, patients from Springdale make up a significant part of our practice, and for good reason. Our office is less than 15 minutes from downtown Springdale, and the level of care we provide simply is not available anywhere else in Northwest Arkansas.

I am Dr. Kyle Benton, a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the only provider in this region who focuses exclusively on TMJ disorders, craniofacial pain, and sleep-disordered breathing. Most of my Springdale patients come to me after seeing multiple other providers — dentists, ENTs, neurologists — and being told their symptoms are stress-related or untreatable. That is almost never the full story.

Why Springdale Patients Choose Restorative Wellness Center

TMJ disorders are among the most misdiagnosed conditions in dentistry. A general dentist may see a handful of these cases each year. I see them every single day. That difference in volume and focus translates directly into diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes that general practice simply cannot match.

When a Springdale patient comes to our Rogers office, they go through a comprehensive two-hour new patient process that includes:

  • Postural and intraoral photography
  • Range of motion assessment and Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA)
  • iCAT cone beam CT (CBCT) imaging — full 3D evaluation of your jaw joints and airway
  • Digital Trios impressions
  • A one-on-one exam, diagnosis, and treatment plan directly with me
  • A written treatment plan and transparent pricing before you leave

You will not be handed off to an assistant or rushed through a screening. The diagnosis comes from me, and the treatment plan is built specifically for your anatomy and your history — not a protocol pulled off a shelf.

What We Treat

Our Springdale-area patients present with a wide range of conditions, all of which fall within my specialty training:

  • TMJ dysfunction and temporomandibular disorders (TMD)
  • Jaw pain, jaw locking, and limited opening
  • Craniofacial pain and orofacial pain
  • Chronic headaches and migraines with a jaw or bite component
  • Bruxism (nighttime grinding and clenching)
  • Sleep-disordered breathing and obstructive sleep apnea
  • CPAP intolerance — oral appliance therapy as an alternative
  • Ear pain, tinnitus, and facial pressure with no identifiable ENT cause

Many of these conditions overlap. A patient who comes in for jaw clicking may also have undiagnosed sleep apnea. A patient referred for CPAP alternatives may have significant TMD that has gone untreated for years. My diagnostic process is designed to find all of it — not just the chief complaint.

Our Treatment Approach

We do not use a one-size-fits-all protocol. Treatment is tiered based on what your imaging and clinical exam reveal. For early-stage, muscle-dominant cases, we begin with orthotic stabilization. For patients with structural joint involvement, we integrate platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) regenerative injections and photobiomodulation therapy to address the biological environment of the joint — not just the symptoms.

Every treatment plan has a clear phase structure with defined goals and a realistic timeline. You will know exactly what you are committing to before treatment begins.

Frequently Asked Questions — TMJ Specialist Near Springdale, AR

Is Restorative Wellness Center close to Springdale?

Yes. Our Rogers office is approximately 12 to 15 minutes from downtown Springdale via I-49 North. We serve patients throughout Benton and Washington counties, including Springdale, Fayetteville, Bentonville, and the surrounding area.

What makes Dr. Benton different from a general dentist who treats TMJ?

Dr. Benton’s entire clinical practice is dedicated to TMJ disorders, craniofacial pain, and sleep-disordered breathing. He holds a Fellowship in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and uses advanced diagnostic tools — including iCAT cone beam CT imaging and Joint Vibration Analysis — that most general dental offices do not have. TMJ is not a side service here. It is the only thing we do.

How long is the new patient appointment?

New patient appointments at our Rogers office are approximately two hours. That time covers comprehensive imaging, records, a full clinical exam, and a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Benton — including a written treatment plan before you leave.

Do you accept insurance for TMJ treatment?

We do not contract directly with dental or medical insurance plans. Many patients find that the comprehensive, diagnosis-driven care we provide is not possible within insurance-defined limitations. We provide transparent pricing, a written treatment plan, and flexible payment options. Our team can discuss financing and any applicable medical billing considerations during your consultation.

What should I do if I have already tried a night guard and it did not help?

An over-the-counter or basic night guard addresses clenching forces but does not diagnose or treat the underlying joint and muscle dysfunction driving your symptoms. Many patients come to us after years of wearing guards with little relief. The first step is a proper diagnostic workup — including CBCT imaging — to understand what is actually happening in your jaw joints. Treatment can only be effective once we know what we are treating.

Can you treat jaw pain caused by sleep apnea?

Yes. TMJ disorders and sleep-disordered breathing frequently occur together, and treating one without addressing the other often leads to incomplete results. Dr. Benton evaluates both conditions in every new patient and can develop an integrated treatment plan that addresses the airway and the joint simultaneously.
