Every custom oral appliance we provide is made just for you, from your own scans or impressions. Diamond Orthotic Laboratory, the lab that manufactures our custom devices, stands behind their workmanship with a manufacturer warranty. Here is a plain language summary of what that warranty covers, what it does not cover, and what to do if you ever have a concern about your appliance.
How long is my appliance covered?
| Appliance Type | Warranty Period |
|---|---|
| Olmos Day and Night (PMT, acrylic, or dual laminate) | 90 days |
| Olmos Day or Night printed nylon device, or any nylon printed sleep device (including DDSO or Diamond Dorsal) | 5 years. Reprints of the same device from the same records are $50 per arch, regardless of reason. |
| BioMed printed devices | 2 years. Reprints of the same device from the same records are $50 per arch, regardless of reason. |
What the warranty covers
The warranty covers defects in workmanship or materials, and confirms your appliance fits the models made from your scans or impressions when you use and care for it as instructed. If a defect is confirmed, Diamond will repair or remake your appliance to its original design at no additional charge. Coverage begins on the date your appliance ships from Diamond.
Coverage at a glance

- Repair or remake to the original design, at no additional charge, once a defect is confirmed

- Misuse, accidents, or rough handling, such as being dropped or stepped on
- Missed maintenance or care
- Wear beyond ordinary, intended use
- Discoloration from saliva, tea, coffee, or tobacco
- Loss or theft

- Outside alterations or ordering errors
Because these are custom prescription devices, they cannot be exchanged or returned for credit outside of the warranty terms above.
How the claims process works
If you ever notice an issue with your appliance, contact our office first. We will review the situation with you and coordinate directly with Diamond Orthotic Laboratory on your behalf. Diamond does not accept claims directly from patients, so please do not send an appliance back on your own.
If a return is needed, our office will let you know what to send and will arrange shipping. Once your appliance and records reach the lab, the review is typically completed within a few business days.
